
UK. After the biomass field has been disputed in the past years for reasons like food competition and forest destruction, it now upgrades its reputation. As John Seed from Helius Energy mentions:
“Every year, 10 million tons of wood goes into landfill sites,” he says. “People are paying money to put wood into landfill whereas it would be much better put into biomass projects.” The young company Helius, which is based in the UK has a 65 MW biomass project currently under development.
